The black 24x crank sensors are 12V (LS1 gen3) and the light colored 58x crank sensors are 5V (LS3 gen4). You can get a black front mount cam sensor and use it with a 12V LS1 harness. An '05/'06 LS2 truck engine uses a 24x crank sensor and a 1x front mount cam sensor. They did this for two years only. Bad coil, p0336, crank relearn. I have an lt1 with a torqhead 24x conversion. I had a coil go bad on me (at least i believe considering I got no spark from it). My memory is foggy but I got the p0336 code also. When I changed the coil it ran better but had some stumbling.
